Meet Mudpaw
Mudpaw Music is a place for musicians of all levels to take the next step in their journey. From private lessons and group classes, to recording and artist development services and resources, Mudpaw is here to help music makers make more music!
Founded by musicians Kendra and Zack Harding, and named as a nod to our two dogs, we aim to increase access to high-quality opportunities for people to learn and grow as musicians. Whether you’re a total beginner just looking to play for fun, or a seasoned professional wanting to get in shape for your next tour, recording session, or big show, our private lessons and group classes offer space to learn, explore, and have fun.
We’ll soon be launching an online suite courses, as well as artist development resources for musicians who are ready to take the next step in their journey as recording artists and performers.
Meet Kendra
Hi. I’m Kendra, a fun-loving music nerd with a passion for helping people find their voice (literally and figuratively) as musicians. I believe everyone who takes the time to practice and put in the work can and will surprise themselves with how far they go. My biggest joy is seeing my students tackle things that challenge — and maybe even intimidate — them and come out the other side victorious.
I believe wholeheartedly that music should bring students joy, and I strive to include repertoire and assignments that excite students and keep them motivated to spend time with their instrument while also giving them a solid foundation in music theory and instrumental technique. I’ve had students play everything from Mozart to Minecraft, and genuinely enjoy getting to know new songs and sounds that students bring into lessons.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Music Composition from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business (voice concentration) from Gardner-Webb University.
Instruments/disciplines taught: voice, piano, guitar, composition/songwriting
Meet Zack
I am a multi-instrumentalist and have been playing music live and teaching for over twenty years. My favorite thing about music is the ability to make connections and friendships through playing and the new sounds a group of people can make when they get together to play music. I have a real passion for creating original music and improvisation.
I teach banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, ukulele, harmonica, songwriting, and recording. I also teach group lessons where students learn how to play music together in a band format. One of my favorite things to teach is how to play lead and improvise over various styles of music.
